Sean Klink is a composer whose music takes inspiration from nature, visual arts, and geography, investigating ideas of place, organicism, and form. 

 

His music has been performed by Balance Campaign, the University of Maryland Wind Orchestra, Tesla Quartet, Ying Quartet, Divergent Quartet, Slee Sinfonietta, the WIU Symphony Orchestra, President’s International String Quartet, Monmouth College Wind Ensemble, Monmouth College Percussion Ensemble, Knox College New Music Ensemble, Jeffrey Brown, Julieta Mihai, Sollee Lee-Clark, John McGovern, Taylor Hicks, and many other friends and colleagues.

His music has been presented at festivals such as Long's Divergent Studio and June in Buffalo where he participated in masterclasses with Augusta Read Thomas, Stefano Gervasoni, Robert Platz, Hilda Paredes, and Jeffrey Mumford.

Sean is currently pursuing a DMA in composition at the University of Maryland, College Park studying with Mark Wilson. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Monmouth College and where he teaches applied composition. He holds degrees from Monmouth College (BA) where he studied with Daniel Godsil and Western Illinois University (MM) where he studied with James Romig and Hong-Da Chin.

As a trumpet player, he is a former member of the Big River Brass Band, a dedicated group of brass and percussion players based in the Quad Cities.
